The Mighty U9's suffered their first defeat of the season, ending a 4 match winning streak after been beaten at home by Cloughton. The team consisting of, Jack Milburn, Beth and Thomas Hiley, Harrison Zakrzewski, Angus Fraser, Owen Burnett, Max Greaves and captained by Lucy Milburn, set the visitors a target of 232 for 5 from 10 overs, a score damaged by some suicidal run outs (or opportunities for coaches). The Mighty U9's, continued their impressive start to the season maintaining their 100% win record. With an impressive all round cricketing performance from the squad of Lucy And Jack Milburn, Thomas Hiley, Harry Robinson, Cooper Wilkie, Charlie Glaves, Harrison Zakrzewski, Angus Fraser, Tom Kelly, Owen Burnett, Max Greaves captained by Beth Hiley, they completed two comprehensive wins against Pickering and Wykeham. The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation is bringing the Caribbean to Scarborough with our beach cricket tournament, part of the iconic Scarborough Cricket Festival. We can’t guarantee blistering sunshine, palm trees and a steel band; however we can guarantee a fantastic day and the unique opportunity to play in an organised competition on South Bay Beach in front of Scarborough Spa. Depending upon results, North Marine Road may be in line to stage one of the county 2nd XI Trophy Semi-Finals on Friday June 2nd. Whether or not Scarborough will be a host in this prestigious 50 over per side competition will be known by Monday 22 May.
