Scarborough Cricket Club are running 5 days of 'Enjoy Cricket' from Monday 14 August through to Friday 18 August. Sessions start at 10am and finish at 3pm, and are managed by YCB Coach Matt Hurren along with some qualified SCC coaches.
Enjoy Cricket is a fantastic opportunity for Yorkshire based cricket clubs to run coaching courses throughout the summer that are fully funded by the Charitable Youth Trust and administered by the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation. The primary aim of the scheme is to give an introduction to cricket for boys & girls aged 6 to 12 and provide the opportunity to participate in an organised, fun coaching environment.
The scheme has been running since 2009 with the YCF taking over the administration and allocation of funding in 2014. From it’s inception, Enjoy Cricket has seen over 80 Yorkshire based clubs take advantage of the funding, that pays coaches and course directors to plan, promote and run the courses.
Enjoy Cricket enables on average 3,500 children to participate in organised cricket coaching each year, by offering around 500 hours of coaching across the County.
Enjoy Cricket is another project that facilitates engagement with clubs across the county regardless of their proximity to Headingley.
