Scarborough Cricket Club are delighted to announce the signing of six new players ahead of the 2017 cricket season. Mark Cook and Kieran Fenwick have joined from Y&DSCL Galtres Division Two outfit Thirsk. Both are high order batsmen, with the former scoring over 700 runs in 2016. In addition, Mark Cook has also joined the clubs administration team where he'll be looking after social media. All-rounder Linden Gray has made the move from Beckett League outfit Staxton, where he took 30 plus wickets and scored over 200 runs in the 2016 campaign. It is with great regret and sadness that Yorkshire County Cricket Club can confirm the passing of current Club President, John Hampshire. Hampshire, 76, a former Club captain, Yorkshire and England batsman and successful Test umpire passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by his family after a long illness. Yorkshire County Cricket Club Chairman, Steve Denison said: “John epitomised everything that’s good about Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Yorkshire & England star Adam Lyth is set to award prizes at the clubs junior presentation evening being held on Saturday 4th February starting at 7pm in the Pavilion at North Marine Road.
