VISITING NORTH MARINE ROAD

Visiting North Marine Road during major match days

Gate-Opening Time

Gate-opening times will be as follows on all five days of the Test:

Scarborough Cricket Club members: 9.30am

Yorkshire County Cricket Club members: 9.30am

All other ticket holders & cash sales: 10.00 am

The above timings are subject to the Safety Officer being satisfied that the Ground is ready to be opened.

Queues at the Main Entrance (North Marine Road), Trafalgar Square Entrance and the Woodall Avenue Entrance

A separate entrance way at the will be in operation at the main gates on North Marine Road during peak periods. This will be for Scarborough Cricket Club members, corporate guests, and for spectators who have purchased tickets in advance (admission will still also be available at the other entrances).

Security Arrangements

Additional searches will be carried out on all visitors to the Ground and anyone planning to attend the match is asked to allow extra time to pass through these vital checks.

To assist staff, Members are urged to keep to a minimum the number of bags and other items brought to the Ground, and are asked to be patient whilst necessary security checks are carried out. 

Travelling to North Marine Road

By Public Transport

The 843 bus runs from Leeds Bus Station to Peasholm Park and takes approximately three hours.

The 7:15 am bus from Leeds City Bus Station will arrive into Peasholm Park at 10:41

By Car

Please note that there is no car parking available within the cricket ground.

Following the introduction, in 2000, of new parking arrangements in the town centre of Scarborough, arrangements have once again been made for car parking and park and ride to be available for those wishing to park for the Yorkshire and Festival matches at Scarborough.

  1. Seamer Road (Town Park & Ride Site) (on the western side of the town centre) (adjacent to Dean’s Garden Centre).
  2. Free “on street” car parking to the North of Peasholm Park.
  3. Pay and Display car parks are also available, nearer to the Ground, at Northstead Lower (near Peasholm Park) – capacity 100 cars, Northstead Upper (near the Indoor Swimming Pool) – capacity 600 cars, William Street – capacity 250 cars, and on Marine Drive and Royal Albert Drive – combined capacity 800 cars.

Please note that both Burniston Road and Weaponness Valley Road are no longer available as car parks.

A “Park and Ride” scheme will operate from the Seamer Road “Park and Ride” site to North Marine Road. Please note that this service is operated by East Yorkshire Motor Services, and not by Scarborough Cricket Club.

Entering the Ground

Bag Search

A bag-searching procedure will be in place for this match. All holders of passes and tickets, including Members, will have their bags searched on entry to the Ground.

Seating and facilities for Members and guests

All seating within the ground is available to all members and guests, with the exception of:

Seating in front of Pavilion: Scarborough CC & Yorkshire CCC members only

Presidents Marquee (including deck chairs!): Marquee guests only

There is no reserved seating within the ground.

 

Pavilion

Access into the Pavilion is for Scarborough Cricket Club members and county members only.

Ground Regulations

 

1. All matches are played in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Marylebone Cricket Club and the Laws of the Game.

2. Play cannot be guaranteed to take place on any particular day or at any particular time and the Club reserves the right to change its advertised fixtures without notice and without liability.

3. No refund of any cash admission charge paid at the turnstile or in advance will be made.

4. At the club’s discretion refunds will be made in respect of seats booked in advance and paid for where a match is rearranged, subject to a time limitation – details of which can be obtained from the Secretary’s Office.

5. Unauthorised persons are not permitted to enter upon the field of play during play.

6. Only persons specifically authorised in writing by the Club are permitted to distribute without charge or offer for sale within the Ground any Newspapers, Periodicals, or any other articles.

7. Unnecessary noise such as that from the use of radio sets and behaviour likely to cause confusion or nuisance of any kind including foul or abusive language is not permitted in any part of the Ground.

8. The climbing of flagpoles, stands or other structures in the Ground is forbidden.

9. The consumption of intoxicating liquors is permitted only in authorised places and in accordance with the licence from the local magistrates.

10. Fireworks, smoke canisters, bottles, glasses, in excess of two cans, flags, banners, poles and other similar articles or containers, including anything which could or might be used as a weapon are not permitted within the Ground, and any person in possession of such an article or container may be refused entry or ejected from the Ground.

11. Under no circumstances is it permitted to throw any object on to the playing area.

12. Any person who fails to comply with instructions from a steward or other official of the club may be ejected from the Ground.

13. In general, the right of admission is reserved to the Club management.

14. The obstruction of gangways, access ways, exits and entrances, stairways and the like places is strictly forbidden. Any person who remains in such an area may be ejected from the Ground.

15. The Club reserves the right to refuse admission to, or eject any person who refuses to be searched by a police officer.

16. All persons entering this Ground are admitted only subject to the above Ground Regulations and to the Rules and Regulations of the Scarborough Cricket Club. Entry to the Ground shall be deemed to constitute unqualified acceptance of all these Rules and Regulations.

17. The Club reserves the right for its servants and agents to remove from this Ground any person who does not comply with Ground Regulations and with the Rules and Regulations of the Scarborough Cricket Club or whose presence on the Ground is or could reasonably be considered as constituting a source of danger, nuisance or annoyance to other spectators.

Travelling By Car

Enter town via either A170 or A64 to town centre, turn left at traffic lights near Stephen Joseph Theatre.

At next lights (Police Station) turn right into Victoria Road and into Castle Road.

Straight on at the next lights then left into North Marine Road (B1364) at the
roundabout; ground is on left.
