The Five Counties Cricket Week provide a unique opportunity to see five different counties in action on the same ground within seven days beginning with cricketing legend Kumar Sangakkara speaking at a club dinner on the Presidents marquee on the eve of the Yorkshire v Nottinghamshire match.

Scarborough CEO Rob Richtering said ‘’We are very grateful to Tim Bostock (Durham CEO) and all the board at Durham for allowing this exciting fixture to take place at our iconic ground. Durham have always been very popular at Scarborough, and we’re looking forward to welcoming them to North Marine Road for what will be a unique seven days of cricket. Grateful thanks must also go to Mark Arthur (Yorkshire CEO) for helping to us to make this happen, and for his continuing support. It’s been a top team effort by all parties to put this programme of exciting cricket together. Yorkshire CCC have been very supportive and helpful’’.

‘’Durham have always enjoyed very good support at North Marine Road, with excellent attendances when Yorkshire have played them at the ground in the past’’.

‘’Local hotels and businesses have always benefitted when Yorkshire have been in town, and the increase in the number of county fixtures has had such a positive effect on both the club and room bookings in general! To add the Durham fixture on top of what we already have will be another boost for the local economy, especially the hospitality trade’’.
